When you don’t know what to wear I’ve always found it best to revert back to what you know and love – to a point that is. Now, if you’re going out for cocktails with your girls and what you know and love is your house robe and slippers, then by all means maybe you need a night in. What I mean is, take it back to the basics. As you may have seen me state over on Instagram, there are three closet staples I’ll never get sick of; Levi’s, lace camisoles, and leopard print. And listen, I know I’ve been making a strong case for these jeans for well over a year now but I guess that should tell you something. I own the same style in three washes and could definitely make room in my closet for more. Feel free to DM me or comment with sizing questions.
Outside of a good pair of jeans, one of my favorite staples to have on hand are lace camisoles. I love the juxtaposition of the lace and silk against the rips in the denim. It’s the feminine/masculine thing that speaks to me. The one I am wearing is older from Vici but I did link a few really similar options above. I love that you can find these at all price points too. Sure, you could invest in a luxe one from Cami NYC or simple snag one for less expensive like this one from H&M. The funny thing is I remember being MUCH younger and lace tops like this were all the rage. I am sure I had one or two but I always thought it looked like lingerie for clothing, and now I’m like yeah – that’s normal. LOL. Funny how your perception changes as you get older.
Oh and can’t forget about the leopard sandals. I’ve figured out that my favorite way to wear leopard is on my feet – and these are no exception. I will say they haven’t gotten as much wear as they should have due to me being lazy and wearing flats most days but on the real, they are super comfortable and can make any outfit stand out. I think they would look super cute with a bright-colored (thinking purple for some random reason) dress. Or just keep it simple with jeans and a top or all black.
Alright ladies, well I am about to head off to work. Sadly I won’t be wearing all three closet staples into the office (hello, dress codes) but I think I’ll at least opt for the shoes.
