One of my favorite part about Fashion Week is the street style. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely ADORE fawning over all the new designs that come down the runway each season but I would say I equally love seeing all the great outfits that make their way onto the streets during this time. Since I was able to attend Fashion Week this year and got a front row view of what people are wearing I wanted to give you guys the inside scoop on the top 5 trends I am noticing for Fall ’17 based on what people were wearing to the shows this season.

And for all of you who like to plan ahead, don’t worry – I am working on my top trends for SS18 coming up soon. I like to wait until the other fashion weeks have passed (London, Milan, & Paris) so I can really get a good feel for what people are going to be reaching for next season. For now, read on to see what you should buy NOW!

1. 1. White Booties – White shoes made their way onto the street style scene like none other this year at NYFW. From booties, to heels, to flats, white shoes were defintely one of the biggest trends I noticed. My favorite style was the white bootie with a bit of a kitten heel and a pointed toe, or the mod 70’s style looking boot in white. I loved them paired with jeans, mini skirts, flowing maxi’s – there really are endless ways to style white booties! Check out the photos below for some inspiration!

2. Bold Colored Suits – Red suits, pink suits, you name it. So many ladies stepped out in bold colored suits this season. I adored seeing the suits paired with tattered t-shirts underneath and ‘undone’ hair – it gives the look a more casual street style vibe. Perfect for the office, day meetings, or lunch with the girls.

3. Statement Earrings – From show to show one of the biggest trends I noticed were statement earrings. I just recently bought a few myself but many of the ones I saw were super bold and fun! They definitely made a statement. What a way to bring a simple black dress to life! Check out some of my favorites right now…

Other trends I noticed were…

Band t-shirts. But not worn with tattered denim. They were dressed up by pairing underneath a suit jacket or with wide legged pants and heels.

Color blocking. People were wearing bold colors together that you might not typically think to pair together. Think bold green & orange, or pink & yellow.

Monochromatic looks. It wasn’t rare to see a full on red look or yellow head to toe walk by.

Belting over blazers. This was one of my favorites. Throw a chunky belt over an oversized blazer for an updated way to wear blazers this fall.
