To know me you wouldn’t necessarily think of me as someone who LOVES color. Nor someone who would be writing a post on who to wear bright colors for fall. I’ve often said my favorite ‘colors’ are black and white. Yet here we are! Every now and again I love a pop of color – and this pink sweater is no exception.
November | Fall Style
Hi guys! I can’t believe it’s already November 1st. How in the world did October fly by that quickly? Actually, I’m pretty sure this entire year has flown by faster than ever as well. It feels like it was just a couple of months ago that I moved all the way from San Diego to Cleveland, when in reality it’s going on 6 months. Crazy to think we’ve been here almost half a year.
With that being said – I was FINALLY unpacking some boxes the other day when I came across the snake print top I am wearing in these photos. I got this top from Urban Outfitters around the time I started my job in San Diego, and I was there for about 8.5 years so that means the shirt is old AF. This top hung in my closet for years and occasionally I would feel inspired to wear it but there were a definitely a few years that went by without me touching it. Flash forward to last week when I came across this top again and I was able to see it in a new light. I thought it would be super cute with a fall color palette, and snake (all animal print really) is super huge this season so I knew it would be easy to come up with a stylish fall outfit with this shirt.
Sweater Weather
Sweater weather is finally upon us. And if you’re in Ohio you know that means today it is but tomorrow you might need to rock a sun dress. I actually shot these photos a few weeks back but totally forgot to put together a blog post. What can I say?! Mom brain to the max these days. It may be getting a little too cool here in Ohio to still wear shorts, although we still have those sporadic hot days here and there. I know my babes in CA and other warm weather climates can still rock this look. In fact, this would be the perfect look for an evening dinner with girlfriends. When the sun goes down and its a little cooler than usual out but still not cold yet. Last year I wore something similar in San Diego towards the end of October but paired it with a leather mini, check out that look here.
How to Style a Boyfriend Blazer
I’ve been a blazer fan for quite some time now and couldn’t be happier that the boyfriend blazer is having a huge moment this fall! I picked this one up in a bold red color which I thought was perfect to add a splash of color to my wardrobe. It comes in 6 different colors which I kind of feel like I need it in the ‘purple moss’ color too! I normally don’t wear a lot of red – last year I think the only red thing I wore was this red jumpsuit. So like I said on Instagram, when I do wear it – I make it count!
Fall Edit | New Season Shoes
I’ve always been a huge shoe lover. I feel like it can take your outfit to the next level, and in some cases it can really make or break the outfit. This Fall there are SO many fun options in the shoe department. It’s all about making a statement with the booties this fall, from metallic to floral print the options seem endless. I just spent forever rounding up some of the best fall bootie options for you. You can click on the images in the collage above to shop one of the booties pictured or shop below by category!
Investing in Versatile Fall Pieces
Being someone who is a little on the short side I always thought I couldn’t wear wide leg pants. Don’t get me wrong, I was definitely rocking my flared jeans in high school but I mean those really voluminous, flowy, wide legged pants. After playing with a few different pairs I started to realize it really comes down to how you style them. You can to do what works for your body and above all, what feels most comfortable. So while some taller women may be able to put these on with some cute little slides I feel they work best with my frame with a little bit of a heel. Doesn’t mean you won’t catch me running around in these, a comfy t-shirt and sneakers, but I also think they will pair really well with scrappy heels and an off the shoulder top.
