I am kind of LIVING for this cooler weather we have been having lately. After that crazy heat wave a few weeks back it is so nice to be able to bundle up before heading out for our nightly walk.
Best Statement Jackets Under $100
Statement jackets are to fall like a good pair of sunglasses are to summer. WAIT – Who am I kidding? A good pair of sunglasses are kind of necessary year-round. No? I just love a good statement coat though. That and boots are my favorite things to buy for fall. Here is San Diego I can get by with a coat that is not made to withstand the polar vortex so we can have a little bit of fun with it. I am sure all of you southern California babes can relate though – it does get pretty chilly here in the winter months. More than most people might expect. I remember when I first moved to San Diego I seriously thought I wouldn’t need a coat or a jacket all year. I just thought California was always hot. Newsflash – I was wrong!
Investing in Versatile Fall Pieces
Being someone who is a little on the short side I always thought I couldn’t wear wide leg pants. Don’t get me wrong, I was definitely rocking my flared jeans in high school but I mean those really voluminous, flowy, wide legged pants. After playing with a few different pairs I started to realize it really comes down to how you style them. You can to do what works for your body and above all, what feels most comfortable. So while some taller women may be able to put these on with some cute little slides I feel they work best with my frame with a little bit of a heel. Doesn’t mean you won’t catch me running around in these, a comfy t-shirt and sneakers, but I also think they will pair really well with scrappy heels and an off the shoulder top.
A Little Feminine // A Little Edgy
I am usually not a huge florals person but I absolutely adore this dress. I like the combination of the super feminine fit with the edgy mesh overlay. It kind of makes the dress a little more edgy for those of us who normally wouldn’t wear a full on floral dress!
I often like to combine super feminine and girlie looks with more edgy pieces. A great way to do this is to throw a leather jacket over a cute little blush dress, or pair black booties with a flowy top!

Casual Summer
There is just something about a breezy jumpsuit that makes me so happy. Besides the fact I feel like I am wearing pajamas, this type of silhouette can work with so many different body types. Tall girls can even get away with wearing super cute flat slides with this jumpsuit and still look chic as ever. I opted for a little boost in the heel department with these wedges from Vionic. You can check out all their super comfy sandals for summer here – I am specifically dying for these…SO cute! I don’t think I have ever worn a more comfortable wedge you guys. Wedges are typically more comfortable than heels but when I put this on my foot I had an OMG moment. It felt like an actual little cushion built for my foot – no joke! So it’s safe to say this might be my comfiest outfit of the summer – and you all know I am all about that. Comfy AND chic…count me in!
Summer Love
Happy Monday! We have had some overcast weather lately here in San Diego but the sun finally came through this weekend! I am loving embroidered everything right now and couldn’t pass up these shorts. I love that the embroidery on them isn’t too overwhelming like on some of the pieces I am seeing right now!
